Blue Shoes and Happiness (No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, #7) by Alexander McCall Smith

It has been a while since I touched any of my old incomplete series books. In my pursuit of appearing more profound and blog worthy, I strayed from my usual knee jerk reaction to pick light books. Now, I am back!

I picked up with Precious Ramotswe (Lead lady detective) where I had left off last with her  addition of a new member into their working arrangement and Grace ( her Asst detective) was engaged to be married. This book has more references to her ‘traditional’ build and its repercussions. There are fleeting references to feminism and last but not the least more new cases. A cook in fear for her job, an untrustworthy doctor, something strange at the Game Reserve , not to forget shoes and chairs and an anonymous columnist.

Life in Botswana is still as described in the earlier books and you can feel the heat and the wind as the tale unfolds in front of us.

All in all, as is usual with this series a good read, the next book’s review should follow shortly.

Older books in the series: ( #2 , #3 , #4 ,# 5#6 )
