I found this book on NetGalley and because of good Goodreads ratings, I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it was not something that I could enjoy.
The plot is relatively simple, Albert’s shop is under financial strain, and despite personal issues, family and friends band together with quirky ideas to save the shop.
The comic occurrences were funny and would have suited the big screen, but in a book format it seemed a little bit rushed. The people made judgements and decisions at such a pace that it had me reeling. The characters decided who to fall for and immediately were talking of engagements and such. This behaviour was hard to digest. The writing by itself was good and as mentioned earlier I would have enjoyed it more as a movie.
