I am always game to try a new series. When I see first in many, I feel like giving it a shot. This was an interesting book, but it was not for me. I am sure this is a personal thing.

Jules is our lead protagonist, she runs a rabbit farm which takes in abused rabbits, do educational tours etc. The book began in a promising fashion (once again from my point of view) and we were quickly thrown into the middle of things with the discovery of a body. Jules has a telepathic rabbit and their interactions were pretty fun. I had a problem with the following things:

  • There is not much cause for Jules to go investigating and the fact that she continuously is told off by the police and she shrugs it off by thinking “what is his problem?”. The problem, however, is quite apparent.
  • The reveal came out of nowhere. I had a pretty strong (correct) hunch over who the culprit was but the fact that there was no leading information provided as to why someone would do such a thing felt a little off.

Both of the above facts were rectifiable if there was an additional paragraph provided at two instances in such a way that the result is eased into the existing story as well as give Jules a better motive for investigating would have made it a more interesting read for me.

I liked the following things:(These do not need much of an elaboration)

  • The writing or the narration itself
  • The rabbit farm and their regular routine
  • The friendships

It is set to release on the 25th of June and I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the review is completely based on my own reading experience.

      1. Haha that’s nice to know.. I have tried reading but I get sleepy or it feels silly. I need to be really picky and there are so many other never ending thrillers that I don’t get to devote time for that. But am slowly creating a slot for certain genres and hopefully it will be part of it in the near future 😃
