The gap between my last post and this is relatively long considering my pace since the start of this blog. This obviously indicates that my time being otherwise occupied ( crochet at the moment) and also that the books are relatively longer than my usual fare.
This particular book is a series that I should by all rights be reviewing as a pack considering there are only three. I missed the act of typing out a review so decided to skip the formality since I have no one but me to answer to.
The book introduces a different take on the delicate balance between the ‘haves and have nots’ .The division is between those with superhuman mental abilities ( akin to superheroes of DC or Marvel fame, just in their mind) and those termed normal. Our hero for the ride is Nick Cooper, all round good guy and an abnormal with a unique ability under the larger umbrella of the term ‘Reader’. He uses the skills to work for the government in order to keep their country safe from terrorists. His whole world shatters with one bomb blast and he takes extreme steps to reach his end goal.
Agent Cooper learns things about the world around him and himself that he was earlier ignoring. There are people after his life and he is also on a separate hunt throughout the book. The idea is new to me and the book is fast paced enough to qualify under the thriller category. I am looking forward to the next books in the series.
