#TopTenTuesday – Favourite Audiobook Series

This week’s prompt is anything to do with audiobooks and I had to jump in. I am not a regular participant in this meme but I am starting to get caught up in the joy of it and trying to make an effort more often than not to sit down and think about the prompts.

The last two I did were:

I am a very vocal supporter of audiobooks, if not on my blog I definitely talk them up to all my busy working friends who have long commutes. It will be hard to narrow them down but I will try my best.I am therefore going to list series’ that I would probably have never read otherwise if it had not been for awesome narration in this audio format. My list links back the reviews if you are interested in checking them out further.These are not really in the order of preference, just a random listing after the first one.

1. First have to be books of Georgette Heyer that I have enjoyed (sometimes solely because of the narration. It adds an ambience and gets me chuckling at the right time. These are not exactly a series but I am treating them as such.The droll narration and impeccable timing of most of these books really do raise the reading experience.

  

2. Books by Jeff Wheeler that I have read are mostly due to the audiobooks access that I had (they are good even otherwise, but this is more exciting). I am listing only the latest series here but it applies to all that came before it as well. I have the fourth queued to listen to shortly.

  

3. Classics: Despite reading since forever, I have never been a classics reader. I lack a certain level of patience to read many of them. Which is why I got a chance to listen to the following books. The narration was great and I found out why the book is as famous as it is.( I know this is not a series, I’m bending my already manipulated rules). 

  

4. This was new to me, a genre I normally would not have enjoyed if not for the narration and the tone of the entire tale:

6. An absolutely brilliantly hilarious relationship of the two leading ladies is depicted so well in the narration that I cannot wait to listen to the next on in the series!

   

7. Jefferson Tayte’s entire series I heard on audio and loved it!

     

8. I would have never seen this series through without audio! Its uniqueness makes me glad that I did

10. Another series that only audio could have lured me into reading/listening to

 

P.S: Do check out the reviews and let me know what you think. Do you like audiobooks as much as I do? I have started making careful note of narrators as well as authors this year in order to do justice to the hard work narrators put in. I am just sad I din’t think to do so earlier.
